Ms Megan Bula joined International Paper, USA (IP) in 2007 as a litigation attorney supporting the company’s xpedx distribution division. In 2010, she took on the role of business counsel to the West and Central regions of the company’s container business, in addition to its bag business. In 2011, she took responsibility for the company’s antitrust litigation. In 2015, Ms Bula assumed the role of General Counsel for Container board, a division of IP’s Industrial Packaging Group. In 2016, she became the Associate General Counsel for North American Papers and Consumer Packaging. In 2017, India was added to the scope of her job responsibilities. In 2018, she assumed the role of Associate General Counsel, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer of International Paper Comapny, USA.
Prior to joining IP, she was an associate and then partner with the law firm Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick LLP in Toledo, Ohio. At Shumaker, she worked in the firm’s litigation group where her practice focused on Commercial Litigation, Products Liability Litigation, Employment Litigation, Construction Litigation and Bankruptcy. She received her JD from the University of Michigan in 1997.
She has been appointed as Non-Executive Director of International Paper APPM Limited effective January 31, 2018.
